At the heart of the I AM MSHRM pavilion lies an innovative modular system consisting of 16 arches. Each arch is made up of 11 unique 3D-printed panels, which were manufactured by MDT A/S using Aibuild software.

The 176 panels feature a custom design pattern specifically tailored to integrate mycelium, a bio-based material grown and baked by Naturpladen. This mycelium enhances the structure’s durability while also eliminating the need for traditional construction methods such as screws and scaffolding, further reducing material waste and environmental impact.

A Sustainable Statement

A key highlight of this project is the use of recycled PLA filament, reinforcing the pavilion’s circular design philosophy. By leveraging additive manufacturing, the project demonstrates how waste can be minimised while enabling creative and sustainable solutions for the built environment.

The I AM MSHRM pavilion serves as a powerful statement of how cutting-edge technology can drive sustainability in construction. By seamlessly integrating robotics, 3D printing, and bio-based materials, this project pushes what was possible and reimagines the future of architecture.

A Showcase of What is Possible with Aibuild Software

The completion of the I AM MSHRM pavilion marks an important first step toward the future of construction and design. It is a shining example of what is currently achievable with Aibuild software and a preview of the possibilities that lie ahead. Accessing this advanced technology empowers the LFAM community to take greater strides in precision, efficiency, and sustainability.

The pavilion demonstrates that through the integration of robotics, 3D printing, and innovative materials, we can create structures that are sustainable, efficient and visually striking. Projects like I AM MSHRM pave the way for a future where additive manufacturing becomes the cornerstone of modern construction.

A Milestone for Additive Manufacturing

The completion of the I AM MSHRM pavilion shows the power of collaboration, innovation, and technology. It underscores the critical role that a connected additive manufacturing system plays in shaping a circular and sustainable future for the construction industry.

We are incredibly proud our software solution supported MDT A/S in their exceptional work on this project. Their expertise has proven how advanced tools can redefine construction processes and create remarkable, sustainable structures.

This is just the beginning. The I AM MSHRM pavilion exemplifies how creative partnerships and technological advancements can transform ideas into reality, paving the way for a more innovative and sustainable tomorrow.
